Train training offered by EMLYON’s railway EMBA
French business school, EMLYON, has launched a new executive MBA program tailored exclusively to the needs of the railway industry.
The Railway Global Executive MBA has been produced in collaboration with the UIC (International Union of Railways or Union Internationale des Chemins de fer), which counts railway operatives in 197 countries among its members.
As with other niche MBA offerings, the program is designed to train and develop those already working within the railway industry, as well as to lure talented new recruits to the sector.
Rather than let the railway industry simply chug along, EMLYON says the course will focus firmly on the future and the practicalities of implementing sustainable innovations – for example, by teaching participants how to work with and influence stakeholders as well as to understand the implications of policy change.
The course is to be a blend between residential and distance learning over the course of 19 months, with a first intake at EMLYON penciled in for early 2015, subject to enough applications being received through the UIC’s member railways.
